How do I backup XCP-ng Configuration to migrate to a SSD?
I looking to move from spinning hard drives (SAS) to SSD. Because I want to minimize downtime, is there a way to backup the configuration of my XCP-NG host?
I would then install a brand new XCP-ng to SSD and just drop the configuration, power on and Im back in business.
Thanks in advance for your insight and help.
xsconsole is no go. It backups the VM metadata only though.
May you show me where I can find said metadata backup function in XOA please? I'm running the community edition
@okynnor If you are using XOCE (from the sources) then you should be able to do this https://xen-orchestra.com/docs/metadata_backup.html, but if you are using XOA with free account, you won't have access to this feature.
You can always clone the SAS drive to SSD and perform a reinstall if you can't get backup to work.

What about your VMs? Are they stored on your "spinners" or separately?
@Danp they are stored in a FreeNAS physical server connected to another physical hardware with xcp-ng. The link via iScsi.
@okynnor Just curious how you ended up doing this in the end...any advice you may have would be helpful. Thanks!
