Can you try installing ipv4 only and alternatively ipv6 only to see if it works ?

Yes !

You forgot to read the instructions properly. It is clearly stated:
"This script is not supported or endorsed by Xen Orchestra. Any issue you may have, please report it first to this repository."

This means that this script/ install method is NOT made or supported by Vates (The guys behind Xen Orchestra / XCP-ng )

There may be errors in scripts and installs which you should report to the creator and not to this forum !

Actually, I have re-installed the server with ipv4 only since it was not getting network and the server was needed. But I'll try and do some tests over the weekend.

It was just a preliminary test.

There seems to be no problem when installing. Its just that when dual stack is chosen, and the router ipv6 dhcp is disabled, xcp-ng gets no network.

I was expecting that in case IPv6 is not available, IPv4 would get allotted. Rather if both are available, both would get allotted.

This may be a router issue, I will have to dig deeper into this. That's Why I put it to 'Other Notes' instead of 'Bug' section.

Thanks for the wonderful release. Here are my 2 cents after preliminary testing :

Bugs Found :
The iso creates the partitions: 1,2,3,5,6 ( Partition No. 4 seems to be missing ), this is when NO SR is created at the time of install.

Improvements Found [ Over previous Releases] :
The IP is allotted much faster than in 8.3 alpha release which took a long time to set-up the network.

Other Notes:
Dual-Stack without static IPv6 does not seem to work. I don't know if this is a bug. Also if Dual-stack is selected at the time of installation, and the Router/DHCP does not support IPv6, even IPv4 is not allotted. Technically, if IPv6 is not available, then IPv4 should be allotted and IPv6 left without allotment. But in this case the whole system seems to have no network.

Test Specs :
Processor : Intel 8700
RAM : 32 GB
SSD : 512GB + 1 TB

Please note that this is a preliminary test only and I would conduct more tests soon on Ryzen 5950X also.

Any possibility (practical benefit) of enabling HA for VMs (using Shared Storage) but not for the xcp-ng master ? will that work ? Or would I need to enable HA for XCP-NG pool master also ?

You are right. I had a misconception as I thought when I add a 'Server' to Server Section in XO, it individually creates a connection to all Servers directly (since it takes username and password individually for each server)

Hence I thought it would still be able to communicate to slaves using the supplied password.

Which brings me to a question : If a particular VM is configured as HA and is running on the Master Node, How will it shift to a slave node when Master goes down ? Or am I missing something here ?

Am new to XCP and have only recently started testing this.

I must stay I am amazed by such a friendly community and a blazingly fast response !

For promotion, shouldn't XO actually show an option to promote the slave to master ? (I guess the GUI is not built yet)

If all the slaves disappear, then the only option would be to SSH into a slave and promote it using CLI. Isn't it ?

Re: Pool Master down - What happens?

With reference to the above topic, shouldn't the other pool members be visible in XO (which has been installed from Source) ?

When I give reboot command to the Dom0 Master, the whole Pool becomes invisible to XO. (i.e. I am also not able to see other hosts which were not rebooted)
When the Master comes back online, the pool is visible again.

Version : XCP-NG 8.3 Alpha
XO Version : xo-server 5.109.0 / xo-web 5.111.0 (Created from Source)

Update : SSH directly to slave node works, but XO removes all the servers in the pool from Server list also. (The list is restored as soon as master comes back)
