RE: Rolling Pool Update - failing
It is test not prod.
Next week, I'll probably tear it down & re-install with 8.2 -
RE: vSAN to XCP-ng | XOSTOR homelab
Just scrapped the previous XOSTOR install.
I'm going to "trial" XOA + XOSTOR 1.0

RE: Introduce yourself!
@KPS said in Introduce yourself!:
Hi!
I have been using Xen for nearly 10 years, now. I started with VirtualIron and changed over to Xenserver when Citrix closed VI.
My use-case is mostly a company-network of a mid-size-company.I know this is an old post...but..I loved VirtualIron
btw, Oracle "killed" (aka bought) VirtualIron. -

RE: XCP-ng host error - unable to create any VMs
@Danp I know XOSTOR is not supported on 8.3 but it was working for a bit & I was initially able to create VMs.

XCP-ng host error - unable to create any VMs
XCP-ng 8.3 beta 2
XOSTOR 1.0First, I was getting a lot of:
"code": "SR_BACKEND_FAILURE_78" VDI Creation failed [opterr=error cmd: `['/usr/bin/vhd-util', 'create', '--debug', '-n', '/dev/drbd/by-res/xcp-volume-6015a063-abd0-4b24-806e-0373f277d519/0', '-s', '10240', '-S', '2097152']`, code: `30`, reason: `/dev/drbd/by-res/xcp-volume-6015a063-abd0-4b24-806e-0373f277d519/0: failed to create: -30` (openers: {'node4-2029bt-hnr': {}, 'node2-2029bt-hnr': {}, 'node1-2029bt-hnr': {}})]",
I rebooted all 4 hosts, now I'm getting this:
"stack": "HeadersTimeoutError: Headers Timeout Error at Timeout.onParserTimeout [as callback] (/usr/local/lib/node_modules/xo-server/node_modules/undici/lib/dispatcher/client-h1.js:635:28) at Timeout.onTimeout [as _onTimeout] (/usr/local/lib/node_modules/xo-server/node_modules/undici/lib/util/timers.js:20:13)
Where do I start looking?

VGPU: nVIDIA Tesla P4 + xcp-NG 8.3 beta 2
@msupport said in nVidia Tesla P4 for vgpu and Plex encoding: I used instructions from @msupport with a few changes
- Download NVIDIA vGPU drivers for XenServer 8 from NVIDIA site.
Version NVIDIA-GRID-XenServer-8-550.54.16-550.54.15-551.78 (Version 17.2) - Unzip, go to Host-Drivers and scp the iso to /tmp (of your vgpu host)
- xe-install-supplemental-pack NVIDIA-vGPU-xenserver-8-550.54.16.x86_64.iso
- Download free XenServer8_2024-03-18.iso from Citrix site
- Mount XenServer8_2024-03-18.iso, copy vgpu binary file from Packages/..../vgpu to /usr/lib64/xen/bin
- Upload vgpu to XCP-ng host to /usr/lib64/xen/bin and made it executable chmod +x /usr/lib64/xen/bin/vgpu
- Reboot host
I need to complete steps 8 - 10
- Deployed VM with vGPU and it started without any problems
- Copy License File from Nvidia License Portal (*.tok) to C:\program files\Nvidia Corperation\vGPU Licensing\ClientConfigToken
- Install Windows Nvidia Driver on Windows 11 VM (need connection to api.dis.licensing.nvidia.com Port TCP 443, use Nvidia Control Panel to set the hostname and port for Licensing the Nvidia Card)
- Download NVIDIA vGPU drivers for XenServer 8 from NVIDIA site.

RE: XOSTOR 4 node - storage network
So, yes, I had to create the interface again.
Live migration on a 100gig network is looking pretty sweet!
-
XOSTOR 4 node - storage network
During the XOSTOR cluster creation you can choose to have a "dedicated" storage network.
After the cluster is created, in XOA, I go to Home, Storage & I can select "Shared Linstor" & then I click the XOSTOR tab.
Under Interfaces, since the storage interface I created (during initial setup) is not showing, should I create the interface again?
