XCP-ng 8.2 LTS reached its End Of Life

News Sep 16, 2025

After five standard releases, XCP-ng 8.2 was XCP-ng's first Long Term Support release, published in 2020. It marked a major milestone, giving users a dependable foundation to build on for years.

When we released updated installation media in 2022, along with better hardware support and Guest UEFI Secure Boot support, we marked the milestone by numbering it 8.2.1, and that's what XCP-ng 8.2 LTS' complete version number has been since.

Whether you call it XCP-ng 8.2, with just two digits, 8.2, or 8.2.1 for its full 3 digits version, it's time to say goodbye to what has been a solid foundation for many an IT infrastructure over the past 5 years.

If you haven't upgraded yet to XCP-ng 8.3 LTS, now is time to do so, as XCP-ng 8.2 reached its end of life today, on the 16th of September, 2025, as announced previously. There will be no more bug fixes nor security updates for this release. The currently supported release is XCP-ng 8.3 LTS.
