Host networking shows interface disconnected but it still works?

Three host in a pool all showed a VLAN interface status as disconnected but the interface was still functioning on any VMs usinging it? The physical interface icon showed connected on each host however. Clicking the disconnected 'button' changed the status back to connected and I'm not seeing any problems. Just assumed a disconnected status would mean the interface would not work.

Does this indicate a configuration error or is it expected behavior?

@dvshmkr I think its a temporary glitch; I had the same issue but restarting toolstack solved it
