@planedrop I also don't see the point of XCP installed on SDD in RAID1 with HW controller. When and if it breaks, install it again.
I also prefer SR on local storage using one NVMe unit and continuous replication to another.

I gave up on the hardware controller because in case of failure I need to have one in reserve for data recovery.

For example in pfsense I copy the firewall rules and change the name of it, and of the port while everything stays the same. I have a lot of VM and for each VM i have several rules for backup, (time and place). I would remove copy it just a unnecessary repeat

Exactly. I have more VM and I repeat most of the same settings every time.

Is there an option to copy an existing backup. Like

You may lose your windows RDP licenses on the new host. It gives me a new activation every time.

Sorry for the confusion I automatically wrote Xenorkestra instead of Xen Orchestra (same program just different language). Yes i do use Xen Orchestra but the problem is that I have to repeat the process of making backups 20 times every day for each VM (Select the VM, create the backup, set a password and send it on its merry way to a storage). Greetings, I need a solution for automatizing the process of creating weekly backups. At the moment it is done manually (The step process being Firefox, Xenorkestra, select VN, export, select compression ration, select folder and create backup). The folder that is used is always the same and I have to repeat this process for every VM.

This is quite problematic since I can't assign another backup for more than two VM at once. Aside from this problem it is necessary to password protect the newly created backup file and store it on a separate storage manually for each newly created backup. Is it possible to write a Jobs for all of these operations altogether (Create backup, assign password, send it to storage)?

I use Firefox and while running Xen Orchestra VM-Export with the Zstd option, the browser cache exceeds the available disk space. How to avoid it.
