I really don't understand what the problem is here. The price is what it is. Everything is free with the use of your brain. We don't know your need for system availability, but for $2000 you can set it up not 3-2-1-1-0 but 9-4-5-3-1. At least the disks are cheap.

RE: Support licensing structure update
@ddbolt I've never understood the need for backup support. For configuration, performance enhancement or some specific needs, it's ok, but for backup it makes no sense. It only serves as an excuse like, "We paid for it but they didn't make it either."

RE: Suggestions for new servers
@planedrop I also don't see the point of XCP installed on SDD in RAID1 with HW controller. When and if it breaks, install it again.
I also prefer SR on local storage using one NVMe unit and continuous replication to another. -
RE: Suggestions for new servers
I gave up on the hardware controller because in case of failure I need to have one in reserve for data recovery.

RE: Copy an existing backup
For example in pfsense I copy the firewall rules and change the name of it, and of the port while everything stays the same. I have a lot of VM and for each VM i have several rules for backup, (time and place). I would remove copy it just a unnecessary repeat

RE: Copy an existing backup
Exactly. I have more VM and I repeat most of the same settings every time.

RE: Remote Desktop doesn't work anymore on VM
You may lose your windows RDP licenses on the new host. It gives me a new activation every time.

Hi,
I don't understand your problem at all. Why not creating a a real backup with Xen Orchestra?Sorry for the confusion I automatically wrote Xenorkestra instead of Xen Orchestra (same program just different language). Yes i do use Xen Orchestra but the problem is that I have to repeat the process of making backups 20 times every day for each VM (Select the VM, create the backup, set a password and send it on its merry way to a storage). I ask again is it possible to streamline or make the process of automatic via Jobs (the program automatically selected VM to export and backup, set given password to them and sends them to a storage automatically)?
