Xen 4.20 is out

The Xen Project has recently announced the release of Xen 4.20, bringing significant advancements and enhancements to the open-source hypervisor at the core of our virtualization platform, Vates VMS. This latest update includes improvements in security, performance and hardware compatibility.

We're particularly proud that Xen 4.20 was released under the management of Oleksii KUROCHKO, a developer from Vates who served as the release manager.

Why does Xen 4.20 matter for XCP-ng?

Xen 4.20 is particularly significant for the XCP-ng community, as it represents the targeted Xen version we aim to integrate into our upcoming major release, XCP-ng 9.0.

Adopting Xen 4.20 will allow us to leverage all the latest improvements, enhance platform security, optimize performance, and ensure better compatibility with modern hardware.

Xen 4.20 also includes initial support for RISC-V architectures, incorporating some of the contributions and advancements made by our own XCP-ng team as part of our ongoing efforts to support this platform.
