      Hi,

We are about to implement XOA and I have the following questions, regarding DR backup:
      Site1 is hosting XOA
      Site2 is hosting VM1
Site3 will be used to have copy of VM1

On firewall level, Site1 has connection to S2 and S3, S2 and S3 are not visible between them. If we configure backup job, how is the traffic flow - XOA is pulling the image from S2 and sending it to S3, or S2 needs access to S3?

      Thanks in advance.

@TodorPetkov said in DR backup between sites:

XOA is pulling the image from S2 and sending it to S3

As far as I understand, the quoted way. At least before an awaited new feature "XO proxy" arrives.

You may want to have a look at a blog post by @Marc-pezin https://xen-orchestra.com/blog/backup-proxies/, especially the image "Backup on remote site (without proxy)".

Yes, for now and until the proxies are available, everything is going through the XOA.
In your example, it goes from Site 2 (VM1) to Site 1 (XOA) and then to site 3 (VM1 replicated)

If you are interested into proxies, feel free to subscribe on the form at the end of the article, we are planning to have an alpha version as soon as possible
