Windows VM cannot start (FAILED_TO_START_EMULATOR)
-
Hello everyone,
I am using xcp-ng with cloudstack.
There are some vms that cannot boot and i getting the error FAILED_TO_START_EMULATOR
Can anyone help me find a solution?
Thanks in advance

Make sure you haven't enabled secure boot by mistake on the VMs.
-
@stormi vms had already secure boot enabled.
-
@AlexanderK Secure Boot was not supported and the switch did nothing before XCP-ng 8.2.1. Now it really attempts to enforce it and fails because you probably didn't install the Secure Boot certificates to the pool.

@stormi should i try to install what is at the guide?
running this?
secureboot-certs installi understood what happened.
Booting the vms with the option UEFI - LEGACY fixes the issue.I will try to read the whole guide.
Thank you very much -

secureboot-certs installIf you want to use secure boot, yes. BTW there's an update candidate to fix a recent issue with microsoft servers. See https://xcp-ng.org/forum/post/49373

@stormi i will update it after it is completely tested because it is in production state

In my case Windows VM did not boot with similar error. Reason: no diskspace left on server...

@jjanvier check your disk empty space....
