    Multiple base copies taking up storage space

      As I try to manage the storage used by VMs and backups I see most of the disk space is take up with "base copies".

      I expect these are full copies of the VM however I am not sure why I have multiple and if these can be deleted?

      For example, on the production host I have the following:
      A 131GB disk with a single 520kb snapshot. I am unsure what the 2.7GB VDI represents.

      By comparison, on the DR host I have the following and I do not understand why:

        @McHenry Base copies are not copy per say but a base of a VDI chain.

        Here you can see that A and B are base copies for the snapshots C and E while D is the active VDI.
