W2K3 under XCP 8
-
Hi!
I've got a W2K3 R2 VM running on Xen 7.2. I want to move it to my XCP 8 farm.
I can export a snapshot and install it on an XCP server. Problem: It won't boot: After first windows logo the VM instantly goes red - turn's itself off. Nothing in the Center log.
When I go into the save mode (F8) of the W2K3 and remove the Xen drivers then the VM will start correctly - but without any network adapter (of course?!).I tried to re-install the Xen 7.2 XenLegacy.exe Tools - tried to re-install / repair the .net 40 drivers without any success. As soon as there are the Xen 7.2 legacy drivers are on the VM it won't start. Any other drivers here I can use? The normal x86 drivers won't load telling me they need at least W2K8...
Thx for any input!!

XP and 2003 support were removed in 8.0. There's a thread around here (search for Windows XP) explaining the details and possible workarounds:
- stay on 7.6 and prepare to migrate to something more recent than 2003
- apply the hack/patch to keep XP/2K3 compatibility

OK thx... I guess I'll set up an older machine with 7.6 and place the VM(s) there...
