Change from XENServer to XCP-ng
-
Hello!
I have successfully upgraded one of your Xenserver Pools from Xenserver 7.1 CU2 to XCP-ng 8.2 with the latest updates.
The Xenserver Pool was Licenced before the upgrade and had a licence server configured.
The licence server is still there after the upgrade, but I don't find any way to remove it.Can anyone tell me how to remove the licence server from the pool / hosts ?
Regards Michael

Is the license server running in a VM?
-
Yes the licence server is a vm, but I don't want to delete the licence server, I want to remove the entry of the licence server in xcp-ng.
-
So it might be a XAPI record in the pool object I suppose.
edit: also I don't think it matters a lot, I suppose it was wiper by XCP-ng during the upgrade.
-
yes it looks like this in XCP-ng center
-
so it should not connect to the licence server at all?
-
Yeah it shouldn't, I mean out license daemon is answering "yes" to every feature.
-
Is it still possible to cennect with a xencenter to the pool?
Maybe the "licence" Option can be removed there?
-
With XCP-ng Center yes. But read https://xcp-ng.org/docs/management.html for more details

If this someone needs in the Futuere:
I found a way to set the licence server to localhost, so the IP address would no loger appear in the "General Tab":Run on each host:
xe host-apply-edition edition=XCP-ng Free/Libre Edition license-server-address="localhost"
