      Greetings,

Our target is migrate the Citrix Xen 8.2 to XCP-NG and after that replace the old server to a new one while the data on the md3200 storage keep untouched.
The first step is migrate citrix to xcp-ng on the old server, "kinda peace of cake", it seems to us everything will be fine.
The old server is a Dell R610 with external HBA card which is connected to MD3200. What we dont know exactly if we put the external HBA card from R610 to the new server and in XOA select "Attach Existing Storage Repository" its preserve the data on the storage or not ?

      Thanks your help,
      G.

        Hi!

I suppose all of this is production, right? In theory, by doing the right steps, you should be able to find back all your machines. If you have a subscription, it might be the right time to open a ticket so we can assist in details for each steps 🙂

Alternatively, the rough idea is to keep the metadata of the SR despite moving to the new server.

          HI @olivierlambert

Yes its production, but we will have timewindow when all vms can be offline.
We dont have a subscription, but I'll discuss with colleagues. The SR metadata backup is important I also consider its important.
