Save console scale settings or external attachment?

I've been recording some tutorials and when using the console the size of the window fluctuates and I have to resize it with the slider then I have to scale and edit out the changes.
It would be great to pin the console window size or maintain width of screen/page or something more consistent cross the 'forced' resizing (ie. reboot, frame-buffer detection etc).
