Xen Orchestra - new NFS storage - storage usage
-
When creating a new NFS storage, under the section ‘Storage usage’ I see a number of entries and the option to ‘link’.
My questions:
- what does this mean?
- what can I do with this?
Unfortunately, I could not find any information.
Thanks,
Pim

It means your NFS path is already used (or was) by previous or existing SR created for XCP-ng.
In short, when you create a new NFS SR in, let's say,
/mnt/data
, XCP-ng will create a new folder with the SR UUID. Eg:/mnt/data/005dc350-ef4e-4ea3-ae46-24b7cb51a05e
.During the scan when you want to create a new SR, the storage stack will detect any existing UUID that aren't used in the current pool, and ask if you want to reattach them instead of creating a new SR.

If I may ask a question here - is there a way to "clean up" the NFS SR folder on the NAS to get rid of orphaned uuid entries no longer linked to XO?

Yes, as long as the SR is not used by any other host/pool, it's safe to remove it. I'm talking about the SR NFS folder created by XCP-ng. Don't touch anything inside the folder except for entire removal of it.
