Hi,
It's not new https://xcp-ng.org/blog/2021/04/06/xcp-ng-pre-installed-on-protectli-hardware/
But yes, we are very happy about this partnership!

@olivierlambert Wasn't aware last time I ordered...

I'm looking into the same setup for my home lab, only I've got a question about the hybrid architecture from Intel.
I'm currently running on old 4th gen intel core HW in a testlab (and alsowant to get away from broadcom/vmware asap).
Can you use both the E and P cores? And did you do anything special to make it work?
Is the box getting warm under full load, or can you still touch it without getting burned?
I've got some experience with industrial grade boxes, but they tend to burn you fingers when you touch them under full load.
Please let me know

@darkbounce Working with all cores no special config. xcpng manages that.
The unit gets hot, not burning though. The whole case is a heat-dissipator in the end....
And this model has two fans on the top.Can only recommend this brand, support is also above reproach.

@darkbounce Short answer: it seems that Intel hybrid architecture is finding a way to make something that would result of Xen running the VM with the less "featured" CPU, meaning your VM will never use all P core instructions that aren't on E core, meaning... it will work without disabling one or another. Hard to tell how much is lost in terms of perfs vs the best Intel hybrid scheduler (which is on... Windows) but probably not that much on a machine with a reduced number of P cores like this one.
