Hi , after some search to find a backup software we found SEP Backup Software and I read some interesting doc into their wiki , I would like to know if this is still de case with 8.2.1 LTS

As XCP-ng is based on Citrix Hypervisor that has removed support for VSS and quiesced snapshots in Citrix Hypervisor ≥ 8.1 and in version ≥ 9.0.x.x drivers, the following applies: To continue using the quiesced snapshot feature with Windows VMs hosted on XCP-ng 8.0 and earlier, keep your current 8.2.x.x version of the Windows I/O drivers and do not update to the 9.0.x.x drivers. For more information, see XCP ng 8.1 Release Notes and Citrix Hypervisor 8.1 Deprecations and removals.

Is this correct ? ( windows update push citrix tools 9.xx )

        XCP-ng 8.1 release note says

VSS and quiesced snapshots support is removed, because it never worked correctly and caused more harm than good. Note that Windows guest tools version 9 (the default for recent versions of Windows if you install Citrix drivers) already removed VSS support, even for older versions of CH / XCP-ng

I am not sure if this VSS feature is bound to the PV drivers, or if it also needs hypervisor support. Though it is not recommended to stay on a old version of the guest agent.
