      I want to build cloud.init template for Oracle-8.10. Is there anyway to do this via Packer or XO?

        @irtaza9 Hi !

        Two options:

        • Create the VM by hands with XO and the ISO, install the package required for cloud init, shutdown the VMs and convert to template
        • Or do it via packer: you have an example here for Debian: https://xcp-ng.org/blog/2024/02/22/using-packer-with-xcp-ng/
          You can add the necessary package with the Ansible module

          @AtaxyaNetwork I'm new to Oracle Linux, do you have any minimal guide for the packages and configs for it? I am going with the first one for now. Created Oracle VM via ISO and configured network, storage(lvm), user and root user password. Now I'm inside my VM.

            @irtaza9 I never used Oracle Linux, but for Debian, here is the list of the package needed to have a working cloud init:

            unattended-upgrades, dpkg, cloud-init, cloud-guest-utils, cloud-initramfs-growroot, cloud-image-utils, cloud-utils

            should be almost the same, I think

              @irtaza9 I have the main characteristics of such a temple:
              Minimal install is the basis
              root fs: ext4 and minimum 10G disk
              IP: DHCP
              ssh login: cloud-user
              login, ssh public key only.

              If you are interested I can make it available for download.
