I was migrating four VMs from a host in the pool to reboot following a patch, but the migration is "stuck" at 100% and the VMs have become unresponsive. The timer on the task stopped at 17:53 minutes, but has been running for well over 20 minutes. If I restart the toolstack on the master, will the VMs be able to restart? Or will I need to restore from backup due to a VDI corruption or somesuch? Also, where would I look to see why it's hung?

      Thanks for any help.

Are you migrating using XO? Does the VM still show up on the old host? Is there any pending-task?

There shouldn't be any corruption, you might have to re-do the migration if it fails. You can try restarting the toolstack but I don't think that will help if it is the same as what I had, you'll probably have to restart the host, of course after you have collected all the info about the hang.

I ended up restarting the toolstack, which caused all of the migrating VMs to be in an error state, as they were halted but the system thought they should be running. I couldn't perform any actions on them.

After restarting the toolstack on all the hosts in the pool, they finally showed up as powered off and I was able to get them back up and could migrate them.

Is there anywhere I can look to see why the migration got right to the doorstep and stopped?
