      Hello,

We have several HP dl360 Gen 9 servers with P440ar controller with all fiwmware up to date.
After creating the volumes on the controller we were able to install XCP-NG 8.2.
When we try to shutdown we get an error:

      ACPI: SPCR Access With.
[firmware Bug] the BIOS has corrrupted hw-PMU

After that the server lights up red and restarts.

This issue happens on all 5 DL360 gen9 units we've tested.
Servers work with other operating systems without this errors.

      Has anyone experienced this problem?

      Thanks.

Searching the net, this appears to be a common issue that isn't specific to xcp-ng. You may want to check with HP, but it appears to be a benign warning message to me.

Smells like an ACPI/firmware bug, HPE is "known" to be a tad worst than Dell on this.

Also as @Danp said, when Googling this error, it seems a recurring issue that is affecting other distro too.

"the BIOS has corrupted hw-PMU resources" gets displayed as the OS is trying to use a performance counter the BIOS is using. You can either ignore the message, or turn off performance monitoring in the BIOS as shown in this advisory: http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03265132
