I’d like to request a more streamlined way to handle PCIE passthrough of things like storage controllers (e.g. LSI 3008 & 2308 HBA’s). XCP-NG documentation shows how to make these changes using command line, and they are not durable when updates are made. It would be great to be able to handle all PCIE passthrough items in XOA, similar to how ESXI handles it using the GUI and keeps these changes persistent through upgrades.

It's planned to do it in the GUI, but it's not possible with the default API (XAPI) so we have to implement a specific solution for it. We hope to get a result for March or April release.

That would be outstanding and would really put XCP-NG & XOA at the same level as ESXI regarding those features!

Excellent, I’ve been kicking the tires on XCP-NG and XOA and that was really the only thing I’ve come across that made transitioning away from ESXI a bit more involved. I’ve been really impressed with XCP-NG and XOA and can’t wait to rip and replace ESXI with it for good.

So we are pushing in upstream XAPI a way to do so, because it can't be done "quick and dirty". However, we hope to get it inside XCP-ng 8.3 at some point πŸ™‚

No worries. There's some politics involved also to be sure it will be accepted upstream, but we expect to be a matter of months (at worst) to be upstream, and then it should be straightforward to get it into 8.3 πŸ™‚

Because on XO side: it's already working! (we are using our own patched XAPI to make the tests)
