Kali Linux Performance
-
As an extended hobby of mine I've been looking into different tools, and one of them which I've known about and used for a bit was Kali linux. Security Pentester/ethical hacker distro.
I've gotten it to install just find on my XCP-ng host, but the performance is utterly bad. I also can't install the linux guest tools, nor are they available on any public repo (at least offered by default).
Anyone else have the same experience and if so any luck in sorting these issues out?

Hi,
Can you be more specific about the issue? If there's no PV drivers in the kernel, you are using emulation and that would explain the problem.

@olivierlambert Sure.
The distro is up to date, 8 core 8gb ram, the system is using PVHVM.
Just trying to sort out if the issue is with the VM or my host, the host and other VM's are acting fine so I didn't have a way to really pinpoint it to that.

I'm taking another look and it looks like the tools may be under another name... xen-tools
I may be going blind at this point if I've missed it this many times.
