Any idea why this vm is not shown in vm list?
host = latest xcp v8.x
xoa = xo-server 5.81.2
xo-web 5.86.0
@schmalztech it will not be working correctly yer for very long time i was trying to setup backups on backblaze in past year, didnt worked, I think s3 backup function is not production ready - but despite of this it was putted on xoa like it would be functioning correctly...
@olivierlambert said in Can Network be selected for Backups?:
It's simple, you can't for now. It's the management network only.
What you can do, is to add a network to XO that will be inside the network you want, so at least the link between XO and the storage/backup will be the one you want.
any update on this feature?
Hi
have anyone done proper configuration of s3 backup and can confirm that it works correctly? I'm trying to config remote for backblaze b2 but all I get is an error
hi
the backup proces is pretty traightforward, but how about restore from s3? how does it look when I want restore a vm from backup?
what the practical difference between cr and delta backup? can I store delta backup on xcp' local storage?
Becouse xoa backup is painfully slow... it's good for CR but for full vm backup, let's say it's unsuitable... on my 1Gb lan, full vm backup (DR or Copy) from xcp1 to xcp2 I have about 10-15Mb/s. This is the topic I've asked many times on this forum. And guys from vProtect brag that the speed im much better on their soft due to CBT not vhd delta - which I'll check in a while.
@olivierlambert no - vprotect would be located on the same network (or separate dedicated network) on which xcp-ng is. "External" in this case is another phisycal location. But that's not the problem. The problem and concerns are about consistency of vm when another soft will "glue" to the vm and create another snapshot on the machine. Another soft that use complete different mechanism that xo/a for backup.
"extenal" backup of all vms to vProtect's local storage
OK.
Another question about using vProtect alongside with XO - which already covers the rolling snaps and CR's - is it safe - from your perspective - to use vProtect alongside with XO in regards of BCP ? Do You see any contraindications to use vProtect on xcp/xo site?
Hi
Question about backup - recently I've found soft from my Polish firends that creaded vProtect - their soft uses CBT for backup. Any plans to use this feature in xoa ?
@olivierlambert ok so - I have 48 CPU cores - any chance to make the algoritm multithread?
I think we done talking. Non static ip in active directory :lol:
Hi
I have the results from another host - dell r410 but the setup is the same (perc h700, local storage, 2x xeon, 128 ram, xcp 8.2)
The export speed is almost identical about 30MB/s however the import was almost twice that fast - almost 60MB/s so this is curious.
Export:
Import:
and despite only 2cpu and 2gb ram (default for xoa) vs 8cpu 8gb ram I don't see cpu hitting the 100%. The results from 1st post are from xo located on xcp 7.6, those are from xoa located on the xcp 8.2 host.
Setting were set to max performance:
1st option is the worst, 2nd - idk what You wanted to say....
3rd option is what I use, but I was not asking about that...
hi
I've forget - is there a utility to config net in xoa or I need to setup static net manually?
