    • RE: [WARNING] XCP-ng Center shows wrong CITRIX updates for XCP-ng Servers - DO NOT APPLY - Fix released

The tree-view in Center is far better than any overview I can find in XO.
Starting, stopping, restarting a VM is fast and natural to do in that tree view.

That makes Center useful for occasional users, that have to find a way to solve a problem, where XO is targetted at the pro user, who knows how to solve his problem before he starts.
Just to join a new server I get confused every time, and end at a place, where I have to enter its password permanently, which seems wrong.

With Windows on the workstation you have the chicken/egg problem. I run XOce in Virtualbox on my laptop. Not simple compared to Center.

XO is not cheap, and if that forces you into XOce there is confusion between the 3 versions XO, XOA and XOce, dubbed up with different ways to install XOce.

XOlite embedded in the Xcp-ng-host might change things.

    • RE: XCP-ng 8.1 Release Candidate now available!

The homepage welcome-screen on a 8.1.0 server point to download of XCP-ng Center 8.0.1.26.
That xcp-ng-center version cannot connect to a 8.1 server.

@stormi said in XCP-ng 8.2.1 (maintenance update) - final testing sprint:

@mortenchristensn I see two mistakes here:

      1. the process to update from 8.2 to 8.2.1 is not by using the ISO. Check the blog post.

Can it be rolled back to a working 8.2, if it is updated with "yum update" ?
I have a server with similar motherboard running 8.1. Is that recommended to upgrade with "yum update" too ?

    • RE: XCP-ng 8.2.1 (maintenance update) - final testing sprint

Tried to update my homelab from 8.2 to 8.2.1 with the iso on usb.

After having answered all questions, the installer stops with

      Error occurred
An unrecoverable error has occurred. The error was:
Installer mode (UEFI) is mismatched with target boot
      mode (legacy)
      Reboot

Can I choose between legacy and uefi somewhere?
Do I have to change my bios-settings from legacy to uefi, and can it damage my working installation?

    • RE: Stupid question - do you typically host Xen Orchestra ON your XCP-ng host, or elsewhere?

I run XOce in a docker-compose container on my windows 10 laptop (a fast setup).
But to just get things done xxx-center is the tool.

      and 20.11.00.3

      @markhewitt1978
      I totally agree.

And you need to know if the XO server is running and its address. I start xcpng-center just to find the XOce server. XOlite with tree-view allways running on Dom0 could be what we needs.

    • RE: installing Openwrt on xcp-ng

      Is OpenWRT's wan assigned to xcp-ng's NIC1/Lan ?

Do you have more than 2 physical NIC's or is OpenWRT's lan assigned to NIC0?

So is your question about how to create a SR and how to destroy one? What about @Biggen's link shared above?

The link is not telling, how to change the Local Storage.
As far as I can see, Local Storage is not a partition like SR's on other physical disks.

I'm not sure that your test for the file type is valid.

You are right. Running your test on my server gives same answer
Linux rev 1.0 ext4 filesystem data
