Intel vGPU - GVT-G
-
Hi,
I am trying to setup GVT-G with the Intel NUC 8th Gen (NUC8i5BEK) which has integrated Iris Plus Graphics 655.
Technically this setup should be okay for GVT-G. I remove the GPU from the host and I can see the Iris Plus Graphics 655 in XCP-ng Center okay, but the GPU cannot be shared with more than one VM. I have updated XCP NG to the latest version.
I am missing something it seems. This appears to be possible, German video showing GVT-G in XCP-NG Center (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FW9TPMrdTYc)
Any guidance, things to try, etc would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Any error given when trying to add vGPU or just doesn't come up on the list to choose? Please share screenshots.

Hi there,
Thanks and appreciative of the reply. Screenshots as requested from xcp-ng, bios, also pastebin of dmesg and lsmod.

lsmod - https://pastebin.com/iwnpybQq

Seems like you need Iris Pro for gvt-g to work.

The problem is coffee lake support wasn't added until kernel 5.0+. Since XCP-NG still is on 4.x, there's no coffee lake support.

What? Are you sure?

Yeah, coffee lake support wasn't added until about a year ago. It was added separately from most of the other supported iGPUs. I believe its kernel 5.1 or newer that adds native coffee lake igpu support.
