Accessing Citrix VM Tools
-
Yeah this is not good, a bad change from Citrix IMO and looks like it's pretty hard to set one up even as a business now.
@karlisi just FYI the XCP-ng tools are fine but they do not allow for secure boot to be enabled which some orgs require (and IMO should be on anyway), that's only something the Citrix tools can provide.
Maybe someone from Vates can give some input here.

Yep. I'm using vtpm and secure boot for my testing. So I need to use Citrix tools per the instructions

@chaoticmaster When you update via Windows Update dont you get the same versions as the download?
-
@davemcl The issue is that you can only get the I/O drivers via windows update not the actual management agent, so while you can get decent performance just from the Windows Update ones, you don't get all the features you would with a management agent.
-
@planedrop Ah yeah, forgot about that part.
-
For your information, Vates as hired a new team member recently dedicated to Windows driver, so we should have new XCP-tools for server 2022 and W11 in the coming months
-
@Darkbeldin Awesome, this is super exciting!
-
Someone was able to help me get a copy.
This fixed my issue with the hypervisor locking up for me when running win11.
-
@chaoticmaster Glad you were able to get it, I meant to reach out to provide a copy and then spaced it sorry!
Keep that copy in like 5 places in case it's hard to get them later haha.

Hi everyone!
I'm sorry from reviving a relatively old topic, but would any of you be kind to share the mentioned citrix agent with me? I'm having issues with a Windows VM and I would like to try a different set of agent/drivers.
thanks!

Oh my, can't believe was that easy and I was fiddling around for hours with citrix links. In Brazil we would say "if this was a snake, you would be dead by now".
Thank you!
