Vinchin
-
Ha all,
As we are facing some trouble with our backups lately i am looking around for alternatives on the internal backup solution. I found vinchin as a possible alternative, i am wondering if anyone is using this tool and has some experience with it?

- What kind of issues are you having?
- Do you have any error logs that you can share so the community can try to help?
- Do you have paid support for XO?
- What have you tried to address these issues?
- Have you given up on trying to fix these issues?
While there is apparently a partnership between Vates and Vinchin I'm more curious to know what the issues are and how you're trying to fix them.

I think the issue is very more likely related to the storage than with the backup itself that has been proven worthwhile already

@olivierlambert not so shure the storage as it is used for vmware as well without any issues, i think we have one or multiple hosts with issues in communication with the storage. Support will check that out.
@DustinB i run into some issues related to specific vms, most likely caused by storage issues from the host or by the backup itself. We will give that some time to experience, in the meantime i want to understand the alternatives as well.

No problem
From a high level view, it appears that there is at least some integration of the product to support XCP-ng, likely either through an agent or API call.
It's not a single pane of glass to view at the environment though, which might be irritating.
As for the product itself I can't say as I've never used it.
