Power outage last night caused some issues. All of my virtual machines are in a halted state, and I cannot get them to clear that state.

Using version 8.3, all VMs are on iSCSI on a QNAP device

      Troubleshooting steps performed so far:

      • Rebooted hosts multiple times
      • Attempted to follow the instructions here: https://rieskaniemi.com/troubleshooting-vm-shutdown-and-reboot-issues-on-xcp-ng-server/
      • Power states would not clear at all
      • The only domain running was dom0
      • Followed documentation here to check iSCSI connections: https://docs.xcp-ng.org/troubleshooting/storage/iscsi-troubleshooting/

On the iSCSI troubleshooting I can force the connections, but I cannot tell in XCP whether the storage is properly mounting.

Any additional information would be welcome as I try to work through this!

@roaringsilence Please share with us one of the logs where the VM start task fails. Are the hosts showing as connected on the SR's Host tab?

@Danp Can you provide me links to the commands you need for the log output? Or just the log locations so I can get the output?

I assumed that you had an instance of XO up and running. If so, then you should find the error logs under Settings > Logs.

If you are starting from the CLI, then often there is some error information output directly in the console. Otherwise, check the log files.

@Danp my XO instance is hosed since it lives on the iSCSI target so I cannot access those logs.

@roaringsilence Are you using XOA or XO from sources? Have you tried using xo-lite to start a VM? Did you check any of the logs as shown in the link I posted previously?

@Danp using XOA on the starter version. I made it back home this evening and everything started up without issue, was also wrong I had done NFS rather than iSCSI so I was poking at the wrong datastore.
