Can't copy between hosts
-
Been a long time Citrix Hypervisor/Xenserver user. I have a production setup with over 20 Xenserver hosts. Recently I'm looking to migrate to XCP-NG 8.3 since the latest version of Xenserver doesn't seem to support the latest PERC H965 12th generation raid adapter. It seems to halt the server and doesn't seem very stable. I'm trying out XCP-NG and seems to work very well.
Here is my issue. I'm trying to copy VM's between hosts not migrate them. I added both my Xenserver host and XCP-ng host to XenOrchestra. It successfully let's me migrate between the host and does it well but I can't seem to copy VM's. When I hit the copy button it only shows me the current server and not other host but when I select migrate it allows me to select another host.
When I hit the copy button I see this "Interpool copy requires at least Enterprise plan" I'm not sure what that means?
Could really use some help with this.

It means you are using probably XOA Free? You need to enable the trial first.

@olivierlambert Thank you for responding. You are correct I just installed and didn't enable or register anything yet. Is the copy function a premium feature? vs migrate is not required to register?
-
That's correct, copy is using a dedicated feature piping the export in an destination import, which is kind of tricky.
Note that's for XOA, the turnkey/tested/supported appliance with pro support available. If it's not a production thing, you can build XO yourself with all features for free, as explained in the documentation. https://docs.xen-orchestra.com/installation#from-the-sources
But XOA stays the easiest way to play with XO, and we can extend the trial for you if you need
Note that XO is included in the Vates VMS bundle, including XCP-ng support, for a very reasonable price: https://vates.tech/pricing-and-support/

@olivierlambert So I'm looking to migrate from XenServer to XCP-NG since it seems to work and is stable with the latest H965 raid controller, (Latest XenServer doesn't seem to be with constant reboots and not able to migrate/copy at all) . I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to fully read over everything. We are kinda in jam and being forced out of our datacenter with 30+ servers since they are closing down and only gave us 30 days, so I'm looking to make the switch to XCP-ng to production, I was just testing it out today.
So I installed Xen Orchestra from the host I just installed XCP-ng. This will be production so what do you recommend.? Install the XO and get support?
Thank you again for taking the time to explain and answer some questions I really appreciate it.

If you are in a rush, just use XOA in trial it's free and trial lasts one month. From there (or in parallel), you can contact our sales at https://vates.tech/contact to get more info on how we can help you to get everything supported and with our expertise/assistance
edit: just tell you are coming from here and you discussed with me

@olivierlambert Thank you for that.
So I just registered for the premium trial but the copy to host still doesn't allow? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong because the migrate function works? I found 2 other posts with users with similar issue with no resolution but if migrate works I think copy would be available also?I just enabled premium trial of tasks and then did upgrade of XOA and now the copy between hosts is showing up. I'm testing it now.
Is the XCP-ng Center vNEXT officially supported or that's third party development app. I find I'm so used to Xencenter after 10+ years.

Check XO Lite and XO 6, it will be closer to your habits, but not XenCenter is only community supported (we don't want to support it at Vates)
