VM Console stuck on "Loading in progress ..."
-
xe console vm=foo yields "no text console available"
How do I start troubleshooting the lack of console access on running vm's?
-
Hi,
HVM guests do no have text consoles but RFB consoles. Use XO or XO Lite to see VM consoles (or VNC if you really want to makes things more complex)

@olivierlambert Hi, thanks for the reply. My XO wont boot, and the XO lite console won't display so I am looking for a way to troubleshoot why the XO lite console wont display in order to see why the XO wont boot

the old text console would be super helpful

It's not possible to have text on an HVM guest, it was only usable for PV guests. You can use VNC as I said, it's even inside our doc: https://docs.xcp-ng.org/vms/#use-a-vnc-client

@olivierlambert are you saying that the XO Lite console will not work on HVM guests?
The XO lite console not connecting is what I was asking for help on. Specifically how I can troubleshoot the issue.

No. I'm saying that all VMs (HVM) are using RFB consoles, readable with VNC protocol (used by XO or a VNC client). There's no text console since it's like a screen in HVM.
If you are stuck on "Loading in progress", it's not a console issue, it's a VM issue. You can use a LiveCD to check what's going on.
