"Manage Citrix PV drivers via Windows Update" is disabled
      Ran xenclean 3 times
      getting IncompatibleDevices = PCI\VEN_5853&DEV_C000&SUBSYS_C0005853&REV_01\3&267A616A&0&30

      install.log.txt setupapi.dev.log.txt

I had to find the disconnected 'base system device' in device manager by enabling 'show hidden devices' and then removing it.
        Installation proceeded after that.

Not sure why xenclean missed that one🤷

@metheos double check that "Manage Citrix PV drivers via Windows Update" is unchecked in xoa advanced settings for guest. i have had odd behaving problems if forgotten.

@metheos I'll try to add it to the removal list. If the problem occurs again, could you run pnputil /enum-devices /disconnected /properties to see what's going on?

My test vm that i just did recently from vmware i forgot to remove the vmware tools but i had no issues installed the new xcp-ng drivers no errors for devices but I am unable to uninstall the vmware tools as the uninstaller just quits. Windows event viewer showes a few errors about the file could be found and check the disk for errors and such.

Let me know if you need me to pull any more information to help with vmtools uninstaller.

@acebmxer You should have uninstalled VMware tools first before moving to other hypervisors, or the VMware tools will fail to uninstall. You can use the command given here to remove the tools after the fact: https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/315639

@dinhngtu in know i was supposed to as I stated i did forgot to do prior to the migration.

Thanks for providing the information to uninstall them. I will look into that. This was just a test vm no no worries about it blowing up.

@dinhngtu Well those directions didnt work as I was unable to locate the setup.exe file in any of the vmware directories. I asked google ai how to force uninstall the vmware tools and started to follow those directions of maunally deleting the services and folder and registry entries. However the vm pysically became unbootable. It would not show the logo of the bios starting up. The vm would appear to be starting up but no console screen would load. I even tried to restore from a backup taken two days ago. That VM started up and of coarse windows wanted todo updates and vm became unbootable again.

I deleted all previous vm and did a fresh migration. This time i did remove the tools prior to the migration. VM is back working.
