Replacing faulty HD
-
What is the procedure to replace a faulty HD in a Xostor/Linstor host with 4 HDDs?
4 x Hosts (Redundancy: 2) -
I looked and couldn't find a replacement procedure in the XOSTOR docs, only the neighbouring parts ("How to add storage on a new host?" and how to read
linstor resource list) on https://docs.xcp-ng.org/xostor.
A lot probably depends on how the four drives were pooled.
@ronan-a advised a while back to join a host's disks into one linear volume rather than RAID them (https://xcp-ng.org/forum/post/62926).
If yours are set up like that, I think one dead drive takes out that host's whole local pool while the copies on the other hosts keep the VDIs readable, but I'm not sure.
Could you say whether the SR is thin or thick, whether the host is still up, and paste
linstor resource listfrom it? That's also what @Team-Storage will want to see, I guess. -
Hi, we have a ticket at Vates regarding this.
