noob asking, we're looking for alternative solution from our vsphere cluster. we're having 2 20+ physical host but using different hardware. is it possible to do clustering using xcp with this kind of configuration ?

        Hi,

Due to number of machines, I assume it's for real/production usage?

Anyway, you have a notion of "pool" in XCP-ng (vs Cluster in VMware, same thing).

If you have different hardware, the pool will "level" CPU features to the lowest to be sure you have working live migrations. However, you should have the same number of NICs and ideally in the same order, to have something going smooth.

64 hosts tops. But in general, people tends to use around 16 to 20 hosts max in a pool.

            Don't forget about support 😉
