I must be misunderstanding something about delta backups and retention. I am trying to do daily backups and retain them for a week. The backups are working fine, but I have 13 backups. It's not trimming the older backups. What am I missing?

^^^ Not sure why this is set to 5. I have tried to change it to 7 multiple times (separate issue)

13 items? Should be one per day for 7 days.

      Running:
      xcp-ng 8.10
      xo-server 5.67.0
      xo-web 5.71.0

I am sure this is user error. Thanks for the help.

That is benign; it just expands the cron pattern to show you the backup schedule for the number of future events.

That's the backup log, not the number of retained backups. You need to set the retention in the schedule associated with the backup job. Currently you have it set to 1. Change that to 7 and you should be all good.

Thanks Danp I knew it was something simple. I had retention set to 7 initially. It's fixed now. I made the mistake of interpreting the log as the number of retained snapshots.

spidernin If you go to Backup > Restore, it will show you the number of existing backups for each VM.
