Live migration - Same pool, multiple SR´s
-
Live migration of a VM to one of the other hosts in the same pool puts all VM-disks on the default SR, can I avoid this somehow? I can turn off the VM and boot it on one of the other hosts, but thats not what i want

-
Is your SR shared yes?
This is not normal, I'm moving VMs all the time... they don't move SRs
-
The SR-s are shared, FC and NFS. So a mix of thick and thin. Running the latest 8.1, XOA from sources and it was updated this weekend.
-
Your problem is unclear. Can you explain the steps you are doing, and the result vs the expected result.
-
Migrate to a host in the same pool:

After: The VM disks have been moved to the default SR

Expected result: VM should be moved to the other host, but disks should stay on the NFS shares. -
That's weird. In theory, if the disks are shared, there's no move. Can you show us how do you fill the migration pop up?
-
@ilix Can you show what your "Migrate" popup looks like? Does it show VDI switch options?

I wonder if this is somehow related to the issue I reported here
-
And what about migrating the VM with
xeCLI and compare the result? If it's different, then it's clearly a wrong XO behavior. -
xe vm-migrate vm="Debian Demo" host=IBM-02 live=trueThis gives the expected outcome

-
Okay great! So it's an XO problem. Can you open an issue explaining the problem? There's already a template: https://github.com/vatesfr/xen-orchestra/issues/new
-
With the newest XO build from sources:
- a776eaf61
- xo-server 5.70.0
- xo-web 5.74.0
Hosts are running latest 8.1
It is now working, from XO and cli

-
What was your previous XO version? An old one?

/opt/xo/xo-builds/xen-orchestra-202025111215
/opt/xo/xo-builds/xen-orchestra-202026112158Thats when I ran the builder before the currently installed one.
