Migrating my company from 2008 era to 2019. Everything perfect except one of my VMs has to be on Svr 2008 (Internal bespoke software - developers are working on an upgrade but months away.)

So i have 2 new HPE boxes 1 for failover.
Running XCP-NG Latest and Xen Orchestra (self compiled while testing) DC and EX working fine read/write perfect all wonderful but for the 2008 box...

I cannot get any form of xen tools or xcp tools to work Xen tools just brick the VM and xcp tools cannot start service. I know it's not supported but somebody may know!
I can get the "I/O Optimized" by letting windows update do it's thing which improved things slightly but not enough read/write speed is exceptionally slow. unworkable.
The standard XCP tools will not install, it cannot start the service

Everything is fine except disk read/write speed

      Anyone know a workaround?

This OS is simply not supported anymore on latest XCP-ng release. It might work on XCP-ng 8.1.

At worst, you can try on older XenServer (maybe 7.1).

@glitchy This weekend everything moved to 8.2. Windows 2008 works as before. Management agent version 7.2
