and hybrid raid solutions? (HW + SW, like megasr)

Re: An updated installer for XCP-ng 7.5.0
Interesting,
I try but I wonder if we can handle hybrid situations...If the server has software RAID controllers such as LSI MegaRAID via Intel chips and the possibility to change from BIOS between AHCI and RAID mode, how to proceed to better use the hardware? I would like to understand how to let xcp-ng recognize the raid controller (ie how to load the megasr drive and complete the software raid with the plus of the hardware part).
Thanks,
Arturo. -
Fake RAID is the worst choice possible in any case. Use purely software RAID or hardware RAID.
edit: because mainly it takes cons of both hardware and software RAID⦠I always heard horrible stories with fake RAID, as far as I remember on Windows XP to recent hardware on "consumer" grade stuff. And I know I'm not the only one thinking that. Obviously, I'm open to data that suggest there is a lot of benefits.

Drastic!
There must be a pro, otherwise the market is really bastard to propose this raid of the poor...I have never found the time to fully evaluate the performances and the risks, but I have dozens of them up without collecting difficulties... I will try to deepen, even to sleep without worries .

It's mainly marketing plus lack of knowledge of "the masses" regarding purely software solution (targeting Windows users in general).
