XOSTOR from source
-
Hi guys,
I'm happy to see that XOSTOR is finally alive
I was wondering if there are plans to also offer an option from source? Like in Xen Orchestra
Best regards,
Salvador

It's already usable from the source via the CLI
(it's meant to be that way). See the dedicated guide on the forum, you can install a perfectly working XOSTOR by following instructions! -
@olivierlambert would be better to include the installation instructions in the xcp official docs ?
-
Not until we are pleased with the manual install and the fact it would run on 8.3 first.

Understand. I don't understand instead the current state of xstor: is it ready to use ?

In the supported version yes, from the sources, we are already ultra busy right now and we are not capable to offer community support at a huge scale.
-
@olivierlambert supported version means "the xostor installed from a licensed xoa/xcp installation?"
-
Yes. Meaning we are sure it was correctly installed on supported hosts. This limits the possible outcomes if there's a problem (a bit like XOA vs XO sources, but we have like 10 years of feedback from XO sources, so we can do community support in here with a relative confidence)
