RE: XOSTOR from source
@olivierlambert said in XOSTOR from source:
Not until we are pleased with the manual install and the fact it would run on 8.3 first.
Understand. I don't understand instead the current state of xstor: is it ready to use ?

RE: XOSTOR from source
@olivierlambert would be better to include the installation instructions in the xcp official docs ?

RE: No 'sm' package under https://github.com/xcp-ng-rpms?
@cheese curious about the features of this new sr

RE: XenServer 7.6 is out!!
@allootikeechaat maintaining a complete independent fork is a very time and money consuming project

RE: XenServer 7.6 is out!!
@revtel as long as xcp is based on xs cr it follows the same release cycle

RE: Help us to find a public patch
@olivierlambert my idea is that soon or later citrix will close all the XenServer's development.
Clear signs of it is keeping long awaited feature like thin provision closed source.
If this thing will become true xcp would turn itself in a independent fork in order to continue its life. -
RE: Testing ZFS with XCP-ng
Zfs is a local sr and imho does not add too much advantages vs classic ext sr
The real value of zfs is to use built in replication to remote zfs system.
Proxmox has built a very interesting solutions around it: async replication of vm on a another node.I know xoa already offer a similar solution but is snapshot based and everyone knows the performance and size problem with this approach.

RE: XCP-ng 7.5.0 Release Candidate
@olivierlambert the fact they didn't succeded doesn't means necessary it does not work.
I'm still surprise they didn't add for ages what you add in few months (ceph, gluster, zfs)
