Issues with XO
-
Hi all,
After some talks in IRC I promised that I'd come by the forum and give feedback regarding Xen Orchestra.
I usually prefer XCP-ng Center for the following reasons:- The left hand menu where I can have an immediate overview at all times to all the hypervisors and VM's on the pool;
- The ability to select "Console" view when selecting an hypervisor or VM and after navigating away from that machine, coming back it will remember the view I had selected. For example if I select console on three different VM's and then cycle through them on Center I'll always be in the Console view. It's turning 1 click into several on XO: selecting the VM's, then opening the VM, then navigating to the view I want, every time;
Also I observe differences from XO and XCP-ng Center networking and an issue regarding adding networks that are specifically associated with a host.
Allow me to elaborate:
I have two /29 public subnets. One is routed to server1 and the other is routed to server2.
On XO if you go to:- Pool > Network
OR - Hosts > hypervisor
Then select the network view you cannot select the PIF of the second hypervisor on the pool. It only displays the PIF of the first server in the pool. So if I want to configure the second /29 subnet I have to use Center, so it gets connected to the physical interface on server2.
The things mentioned here so far are what keeps me using Center instead of XO. If I find more I'll come back to this topic, I'm trying to use one and another and share the user experience.

Thanks for the report
Most of it (I think everything) will be fixed in new UI.Ping @pdonias about this.
