Cannot migrate VM from 7.5/7.6 to 8.2 INTERNAL_ERROR
-
I am trying to move some VMs to new hosts in order to get rid of the old 7.5/7.6 hosts.
I understand that you cannot migrate from 8.2 to lower Versions but from 7.X to 8.2 should work right? After running for some time, the migration job fails with:
vm.migrate { "vm": "a1155503-64fc-e24e-9905-f89616bde68b", "mapVifsNetworks": { "8fa70627-5d77-fe8d-0c1d-30b4370455ab": "4fcdc948-bf88-54d3-b2b3-93fb64702dfe" }, "migrationNetwork": "4fcdc948-bf88-54d3-b2b3-93fb64702dfe", "sr": "bcf3c314-9137-9e84-9f75-6a35f0bb9db2", "targetHost": "3a625714-3193-475c-bd25-6de5a95e31b5" } { "code": 21, "data": { "objectId": "a1155503-64fc-e24e-9905-f89616bde68b", "code": "INTERNAL_ERROR" }, "message": "operation failed", "name": "XoError", "stack": "XoError: operation failed at factory (/opt/xen-orchestra/packages/xo-common/src/api-errors.js:21:32) at /opt/xen-orchestra/packages/xo-server/src/api/vm.js:487:15 at runMicrotasks (<anonymous>) at processTicksAndRejections (internal/process/task_queues.js:93:5) at runNextTicks (internal/process/task_queues.js:62:3) at processImmediate (internal/timers.js:434:9) at Object.migrate (/opt/xen-orchestra/packages/xo-server/src/api/vm.js:474:3) at Api.callApiMethod (/opt/xen-orchestra/packages/xo-server/src/xo-mixins/api.js:304:20)" } -
It might work, but it depends on various things (older the version, higher the chances it doesn't).
Double check you have the same amount of memory (dynamic min = dyn max = static max) before migrating.
-
Memory is set fixed:

Is this in any way tied to what management agent or guest OS this is ?

I can migrate this VM from another host (7.6) to the 8.2 host just fine:

Im not sure what the agent actually is, thats why im guessing this might be related

VM that fails:
