I have Linux VM's with GUIs and users that need access to those GUIs. I'm not giving them direct access to XO. I normally use something like nomachine to provide access but the XO console only supports a limited number of resolutions. Is there any way to make the xo console "support" resolutions like 1920x1080 to give a better Remote Desktop experience?

pointers to the right documentation would be great.

XCP-ng consoles aren't meant to be "remote desktop" grade consoles. It's using VNC, which is pretty slow, without advanced support you might have in RDP, Spice and others.

So you can see consoles as more "helping tools" to see the VM screen when you need (install, issues and so on) but not tools to work on every day.

If you need that (real remote desktop), you might check projects UDS Enterprise for example.

@olivierlambert thanks. I do understand the console not intended to be Remote Desktop but more of the "I really need access" type of service. Tools like NX and any desk you give a very nice Remote Desktop experience but the virtual graphics card (framework?) Limits what those tools can provide for Remote Desktop.

I'll take your advice and check into UDS enterprise.
