S3 / Wasabi Issue
-
Hi,
You are using XOA, right? On stable or latest release channel?
-
@olivierlambert Sorry, I missed that bit out! I'm running stable release channel 5.87.0
-
Can you switch on latest and try again? Also if you have an XOA subscription, it's more efficient to open a support ticket with a tunnel open so we can take a look remotely
-
@olivierlambert Thanks Olivier, we do have Pro Support available with our subscription, I'm fairly new to this and I forgot we even had the support option and wasn't aware of how the support tunnel worked etc
Would it be best if I open a ticket for this?
I'll move to the latest version and try again in the meantime.

@ColBod there was a few fixes in latest concerning the bigger VM ( more than 50Gb uncompressed ), it may be useful here
-
@florent Thanks for the update.
I mean the behavior of the backup has changed on the latest version.
Tried three times now and they're all failing at the start, around two minutes in. Getting an "Interrupted" error. Previously they were running for just over an hour and getting to 100% before it would fail.
I tried the smaller VM that I previously had success with and that completed successfully on the latest version.
Just trying it again with the bigger VM after recreating the system remote from scratch and I'm 10 minutes in still on 0% and says the estimated end 8 days! It was previously estimated around 4 hours until it settled at around 1 hour mark on the stable version.
I'll be patient and see how it goes over the next 30 minutes or so.

Unfortunately, that's just failed now with the same interrupted error.
It seemed to have gotten further on the stable version -
@ColBod Not that this solves your issue, but... I use XO source so it is updated before XOA and I delta backup several 500Gbyte+ VMs and many >100Gbyte to S3 wasabi. The S3 delta backup to wasabi does work for large (>100G) VMs. I have been running backups with NBD disabled before and now enabled, both work.
You may have other issues blocking backups, like a firewall/IDS.
Since you have support, use it! The Vates team is very helpful.
-
@Andrew Thanks for your input Andrew. I'm still fairly new to this so unsure what XO source is. I'll investigate further on Monday and do further testing.
I don't think I'm having issues with the firewall or IDS as I can successfully backup a smaller VM on the same network/subnet as the larger one that is failing.

@ColBod XO source is the development version. If you have a full version of XOA then keep using it...XOA has support.
