No Xen Tools Detected
-
So I'm scratching my head on this one... "No Xen tools detected"
Yet..
Am I missing something stupidly simple?
-
i got similar problems with Xen beta drivers, or totally unable to install them.
So i suppose it's better to use Citrix driver. -
@Tristis-Oris These tools were installed from xenserver.com/downloads, which is the official process.
If I went to Citrix, I'd likely have to get behind a paywall.
-
Citrix tools can be installed on XCP. I use them without problems.
Just need to find any alive url to download.Or maybe someone know any tricks to get xen driver works.

but intellectual property theft...

I always assumed that the ones from xenserver.com were identical to the Citrix version. Is that incorrect?
-
@Danp I'm not certain, I would assume that Citrix is very likely tweaking to match their version of XAPI.
I do know that with the version from xenserver.com/downloads I am dealing with this now..
Maybe just restarting the services will fix it? ..
IDK it's irritating more than anything else, but it's definitely a pain in the rear if I have to patch the pool as the drivers being mucked up, mucks up the entire process.

@DustinB Have you tried the usual suspects?
- Restart the drivers
- Restart the VM
- Uninstall / reinstall the VM tools
- Break out the sledge hammer

- Yes
- Can't during normal business hours
- No, see above
- It may not matter if I can consolidate this VM in the near future, but yes maybe... lol...
