      Hi everyone!

I have a Ryzen 9 7900x with 128gb of ECC UDIMMs system that I would like to move from proxmox to XCPNG. Does XCPNG support ECC on Ryzen 7000 series?

From the documentation I saw that you can use Linux kernel version 4.19 and it comes with patches. Are the amd64_edac patches form Linux kernel 6.5 already included in XCPNG?

If not, how can I test to see if ECC is working on XCPNG?

      Thanks for the help.

It should work fine. You may find this thread interesting -- https://xcp-ng.org/forum/topic/6896/non-server-cpu-compatibility-ryzen-and-intel

BTW, isn't ECC a feature of the motherboard not the hypervisor? 🤔

As a server virtualization platform, ECC is the most common memory used by our XCP-ng deployments all around the world 🙂 It's up to the system (CPU/memory) to deal with it and correct errors on the fly, it's transparent for the hypervisor 🙂
