EOL: XCP-ng Center has come to an end (New Maintainer!)
-
@AbyssMoon the tip of the development branch (commit cd4c62ee) builds in VS2022 and produces a functional XCP-ng Center. If you have the tools, you can just fork the repo (or clone it) and build locally.
The github workflow doesn't appear to be working, as far as I can tell, so perhaps that is why the 'latest' release is from January.

Seeing that 8.3 is released now, I will do some cleanup of what I have, and get a 24.11 release out after some testing with 8.3 GA.
On XenServer, This is designed for XCP-ng, not XenServer, so its support will be limited if at all supported. I seen some bug reports for XenServer, I will close those as wontfix, sorry.
-
Also, I do apologize for slow updates. I have been working on tons of projects and will try to get some time to get this a good alternative to people who want a desktop app.
-
Forgot one last thing, even tho i may not be day to day programming on XCP-ng Center, please feel free to ask for pull requests. Ill definitely will look at them and merge them if they fit.

@michael-manley Thank you Michael (and patch- and issue-submitters), some clients/users find XCP-ng Center faster for some tasks and like it for familiarity's sake.
Your efforts are much appreciated for making XCP-ng less daunting for a number of people I know - thanks again.
If you are still perchance looking for potential additions, having a (selectable/slide out) right-side of screen (or bottom perhaps) area for showing the running list of tasks (current and history) would make seeing what is going on easier (a quality-of-life issue) rather than switching to it for users (thus making usage and tracing of 'events' faster).
Something like that would be really welcome in XO too !

YES PLEASE make 2024.11 realise of XCP-ng Center for 8.3 version of XCP-ng.
If I can help (and if I know how to do it) please let's me know. -
Hello Everyone,
I put a release out of vNext Build 24308 as a normal release. Although its a vNext build, its pretty stable and works with 8.3.
I plan to do some changes before 24.11 comes out in GA but I just wanted to get something out now so you all have a version that is 8.3 compatible.
Please test and report any bugs you may notice. I will mention also 24.11 will change how settings are done which will allow for a portable version of XCP-ng Center. More to come later.

@michael-manley
Thank you for new realize.
I install it on my PC and connect to my pools.
First impressions are good, works fine, after 1/2 usage I don't get any error of found bug.
I will use this version and report any issues if I found any. -
@michael-manley Thank so yo much Mr. Manley

Thank you @michael-manley
I have waiting for update for XCP-ng Center for so many years. Now adding new disks to VM when you have a lot of LUN connected to pool works very fast ans smooth.

I have found a bug which occurs in latest version and also in nightly versions of XCP-ng Center. We you have server list with few connection it takes about 20-25 after inputing master password when they will appear.
Missing connections list after inputing master password:
Connection list appears after 20-25 seconds of waiting:

Thanks a lot for the good work. Came right in time. Never finding anything fast in XOA.

Hello Everyone!
Thought I'd get peoples views on this. Since XCP-ng Center is Windows only and basically stuck on .NET Framework 4.8, I am considering switching the UI over to Avalonia, rewriting the whole UI for that change, and upgrade to .NET 8.0. This will also allow Linux users to use XCP-ng Center as well.
-
@michael-manley Speaking as a recent Linux desktop convert, I approve
-
I still keep a Windows 10 VM just to be able to run XCP-NG Center.
Despite XOA is a great powerfull tool to perform backups and warm migrations, XCP-NG Center
is much moreuser-friendly when you want to check more than one server at once.Having it on a Linux Desktop could be the most welcome improvement.
Thanks.

@michael-manley sounds like a plan.
-
@michael-manley Sounds fantastic! Should allow for GUI additions flexibility as well.
-
its a big task, but would be cool
-
@michael-manley You got my vote of approval. I'm also willing to test your releases (if you need that kinda help).
