LDAP auth plugin settings and users not synced across multiple XO instances
-
Bug or feature please?
Thanks,
Murf. -
Hi,
I'm not sure to get your question. Can you develop further what's the exact issue and what you would expect?
-
@olivierlambert For example:
I have 2 instances of XO, looking at the same servers/pools
Instance: I enable ldap-auth plugin, configure it, and sync groups
Instancev2: ldap-auth remains disabled with no configuration, and groups remain empty.Thanks.
PS Your forum is running extremely slowly the last few days.

@Murf Forum runs fine for me.
In regards, to you LDAP problem. XO instances are independent of each other, so if you want to use LDAP on instance 2 you have to run, configure and sync it there too.
-
Yes, the point of XO is to have one central XO to rule your entire infrastructure.
You can use multiple XOs, but they are not sync together. Each users are created (via LDAP or any source) into each XO, it's not shared, because there's no shared database between all your XOs.
-
@olivierlambert Yet things like pool settings (networks for example) are shared?
-
@Murf
Those are shared in the pool through the pool master - not XO - LDAP auth is a XO thing -
Yes, Xen Orchestra is a client of XCP-ng. All XCP-ng objects (VMs, hosts etc.) are accessible in parallel by multiple clients (eg multiple XOs). But XO aren't sharing anything between them (local DB, users, ACLs, backup jobs).
