XenApp or similar on XCP-ng?
-
Hello All,
I have been researching how to work with remote apps within VM's on XCP-ng and rand across some mention of Citrix XenApp that is supposed to allow us to get a single application window running in a VM which is generally called seamless mode.
Is there something like this available for XCP-ng?
-
Yep.. Its called XenApp/Xendesktop aka Citrix Apps and Desktops, MS RDSH and UDS Enterprise all are fine on XCP_NG ... although I only used XA/XD/RDSH on XCP-ng.

XenApp/Xendesktop
Thanks for responding to my inquiry on this.
Are these closed source? If not, then I would like to explore them more on XCP-ng, but they sound closed to me.
-
@LonnieTC Yes they are closed source. I think you can sign up for a trial-period on XenApp and XenDesktop. Atleast you could a couple of years ago.

@nikade @AllooTikeeChaat Thanks for the information on this. I may see if I can give it a test. Does XCP-ng expect to have anything like this in the future? Anything in the works already?

You have UDS Enterprise too, but I'm not a virtual desktop expert

Hi,
Yes, you can use UDS Enterprise for Windows (with RDS) and Linux (with X2Go) virtual applications on XCP-ng. There's a Free version for 10 users lifetime. You can request it here: https://www.udsenterprise.com/en/downloads/

Hey @blafuente welcome here
I think we might create a dedicated thread for UDS, because I remember having various questions here on this forum about it!Probably in the Community section, feel free to create a topic explaining what's UDS and keep an eye there to answer questions

-
Sure @olivierlambert I'll do it!! I was just searching for other questions related to UDS Enterprise
