      Hi,

This is an extra turnkey service provided by XOA (the virtual appliance). You can always install Netdata manually in your XCP-ng host (we packaged Netdata ourselves and put all those packages publicly available), you can also install a reverse proxy and expose a local Netdata on your Xen Orchestra VM installed from the sources.

Everything is there for you to build it. We are selling support AND turnkey solutions.

Which XoaPlan is needed to get Netdata support? It isn't listet in the feature matrix.

"Advanced live telemetry" is in XOA Premium. We'll update feature matrix.

@olivierlambert said in Netdata plugin: Open or closed source?:

you can also install a reverse proxy and expose a local Netdata on your Xen Orchestra VM installed from the sources.

Would this make the big green 'Enable Advance Live Telemetry' button work?

I don't think so, you'll have to configure yourself the host and the VM to make the data streaming, create the reverse HTTP server, etc.

Everything is documented on Netdata website.

@olivierlambert ah, I thought that's what you meant by 'expose a local Netdata on your Xen Orchestra VM'.

So basically you mean you would revers proxy it so you would go to your XO ip rather than the host ip:19999, or is there actual integration within XO?

This the XCP-ng / XO web site could really shout these great features a bit more (unless I'm looking in the wrong places)!

There 2 things with this button:

                    • deploying netdata on a XCP-ng node automatically
                    • but also configuring to stream directly to the XOA IP address
                    • any modern XOA got a /netdata accessible dashboard

So it means you can access your host netdata "data" from the host view (there's a link activated in XO when it's up) so the host won't store any metrics, it will just stream it to central XOA. Also no firewall opened on the host!

edit: this is explained there: https://xen-orchestra.com/blog/xen-orchestra-advanced-telemetry/

Ah-ha I see thanks. So it sets it all up, including the Netdata Cloud (locally I presume) so they are all unified. That's a pretty cool thing!

As soon it's installed, the button will now be replaced by a "Go to Advanced Live Telemetry". As soon you'll click on it, you'll be redirected to the netdata page of the host. If you have multiple host, you can access any of them directly from the top menu of the netdata UI.

So the big green button also changes 😄

It's not Netdata "cloud" but yes you'll have all the hosts automatically appear in XOA local Netdata install (as soon there's data present)
