I am new to this for forum, hope you all are keeping safe.
Can anyone assist with this:
Error: SR_BACKEND_FAILURE_109(, The snapshot chain is too long, )I am using Xen Orchestra for backups but the backups fails with the error above after some time

@piety67 Do you have a lot of snapshots on the VM?

@jedimarcus The vms are backup using continuous replication set at different times during the day eg. 12 pm and 5 pm

Do you have other snapshots than those created by XO?

@olivierlambert yes I do of other vms but some of those fails as well same error

In theory, Xen Orchestra got a protection against this issue (see https://xen-orchestra.com/docs/backup_troubleshooting.html#vdi-chain-protection )
So you have to find what's causing a long chain outside XO.
You can check in XO, in the Advanced tab of the SR view, if there's VDI to coalesce.
Or maybe very long chain for other reasons, there's a tool we made called xapi-explore-sr.
